Internships
Accelerate Climate Solutions' intern program is designed to give high school and college students experience working locally on environmental issues and teach them about climate communications, policy, and technology. Working with these students helps us fulfill our mission to support the next generation of environmental leaders and build the green workforce of tomorrow.

Bike Plan
Our interns worked to develop a comprehensive bike plan for Naperville, conducting extensive research using surveys and past accident data and presenting their findings to the Naperville City Council. See the bike plan here.

BLAST
Our interns helped develop the structure of the BLAST program, reached out to teachers, and created publicity.

Expanding Recycling
Our interns surveyed multi-family residences and restaurants regarding recycling and composting, with an eye to expansion. Other interns are working to educate the community about recycling, reuse, and upcycling.

Civic Engagement
Our interns have presented to the Naperville City Council, met with elected officials such as Senator Laura Ellman, and even were interviewed by reporters to discuss their environmental concerns. See our interns presenting to City Council.

Our interns organize EcoBLAST, an environmental fair promoting sustainability with upcycling, a thrift shop, and an eco-friendly art showcase.

Tackling Fast Fashion
Our interns planned and held pop-up thrift shops so that clothing is repurposed rather than going to the landfill. They educate about the environmental impacts of fast fashion and how to lower your impact with the fashion choices you make.
